January is National Mentoring Month. As a result, Kinship is challenging the Brainerd community to come together and wipe out Kinship’s waiting list. Currently, there over 50 children waiting for someone like you to step up and become a mentor. No special skills are needed.
Who: 11-year-old Sasha and 9-year-old Jenna
Interests: Sasha and Jenna are crazy about animals. Sasha would like to be a veterinarian and Jenna wants to work at a pet store when they grow up. Besides animals the girls would like to learn how to ice skate and get involved in girl scouts.
Personality Traits: Out of the two girls Sasha is the quieter and more sensitive. She describes herself as happy, quiet, shy, friendly, and artistic. Jenna is more outgoing and has a lot of energy. She describes herself as active, athletic, fun-loving, and happy.
Current number of children waiting for partners: 29 boys; 18 girls
Sasha and Jenna’s parents are divorced and they live with their dad. They are both excited to receive Kinship Partners, and they each would like a woman who is nice. They would benefit from an outgoing woman who could offer the girls a feminine perspective and new experiences.
