Honestly, what kind of reporting is this? I have family that was in an accident on Wise Rd and this is all the info? There were 3 accidents on that road Saturday night. I heard more info in rumors and if you posted the news you wouldn't have to hear stuff via rumors. Post something worth reading or don't post anything at all. This makes me sad for the future of journalism. It's been almost 2 days......
I heard on the radio the road was closed because of an accident. Facebook reported more because of family and friends and even started a PRAYER group for some of the victims. UNREAL.
I started the prayer group as my brother was one of the accident victims. It took 2 days to finally get a report worth reading. I appreciate the support, thoughts and prayers from everyone
They can shoot a video of a semi tipped over in a different county or re-post a story of snowmobilers going through the ice from Buffalo quickly, but to actually gather info and do their own "reporting"... Yes it's called reporting for all of you so-called reporters at the dispatch...
p.s. if you don't "dispatch" reporters, maybe you should change your name
Thank you all for your critiques. We need to take a look at how we can do a better job on timely news items.
This particular news brief was supposed to get on the website on Sunday, but it was lost in our new content system and didn't get 'found' to make it on the website until Monday morning, just 20 minutes before the update to the article. We need to fix that.
As for us not having the news soon enough - jsteiny03 and daneagan - did you call or email us to make us aware of it?
We have an after hours phone number 855-5888 and an email set-up especially for news tips - newstips@brainerddispatch.com . Many people in the area use these to let us know about news items that we otherwise might not hear about.
Nailer, fyi, the semi accident video was included with a valid news story (it's called multi-media reporting) gathered about that accident, just 15 minutes away near Pillager.
And just a little point to make. Please get your information completely. Are you aware that there are in fact two Ambulance services in this county? covering nearly the same amount of area. Please get this right, dont just assume. And this isnt the first time. We dont do this for the recognition, but it sucks to read how someone else gets recognition for the job you do. If you are wondering where this is coming from, see your article about the Crosby incident that happened three miles from CRMC.
Ummmm... That's the point I was making.. In 10 1/2 hours you had pictures and video with a story of an accident 15 miles away in Cass county with no injuries... It took 40 hours to report on a 2 victim critical accident 2 miles from the dispatch building... Just sayin'.... Maybe Morris Communications could hook you guys up with a few of those newfangled police/fire scanners that came on the market 30 years ago to help you cover news in a timely manner...
