Brainerd Mayor James Wallin (left) Capt. Scott Strissel, Stewart Mills Jr. rung the bell for the Salvation Army Thursday while Rep. John Ward placed money in the kettle at the Mills Fleet Farm in Baxter.

Stewart Mills III, Nisswa Mayor Brian Lehman and Baxter Mayor Darrel Olson also helped raise money for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign.

Mills Fleet Farm matched all the donations that were raised during Thursday at the store.

Volunteers have been ringing bells at the store in Baxter for the past 10 years.

Wow! Ward actually opened

Wow! Ward actually opened his rusty old wallet to donate $1 of his own money! Impressive.

He will probably write it off on his taxes, and then also asked to be reimbursed from campaign funds considering the press coverage it provided him.

Ward actually practices family values

Hey, it's Christmas. Ward does a lot for this area,
that's why he's re-elected over and over by such a wide margin.
No ethics violations or affairs on the side.

And he's a nice guy, long term marraige, attends church, great kids.

You're right on most points,

You're right on most points, Snowda. Happy Holidays to you and Mr Ward.

I'll reserve my comments about what he does for the area for another time.

Trashing John Ward won't work

He is a solid guy and a fine legislator. And the voters in his district know it. Cheap shots just backfire.

wish he were my legislator

Mine is invisible. Oh, I did see an old campaign sign of his on the highway to town. I wouldn't recognize him in a lineup.

John Ward

is a bloated example of hypocrissy. He is only interested in himself and power, and one day people will realize he is no better than Welfare Wellstone.

Would Gazelka drop a penny in the bucket?

Inquiring minds want to know.

he's everywhere

Representative Ward, everywhere I go, he's there - volunteering or donating.
More than I can say for the other elected official from here.

With my 'liberal' friends

last night we volunteered feeding the poor and tonight we are going to church...

got a problem with that?

I didn't just drop a few dollars in the bucket, I sent them a big check.

Did you? rich rule

Lesson: Never (never never never never) paint with a wide brush.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Blacklanta

You would think this community would benefit from a cultural diversity program and at the same time, be more than willing to remove this label.
