Sunday through Dec. 10 is Ban the Bug week, according to Cass County Health, Human and Veterans Services. Influenza is a contagious, respiratory infection that can lead to serious complications for some people. Influenza is not the “stomach flu.” It typically affects the nose, throat and lungs. Getting an annual vaccination is the best way to reduce your risk of serious illness. The vaccine is available to every individual six months of age and older. It is not too late to get your influenza vaccine. For more information, contact Jennifer Jackson at (218) 547-1340, Ext. 210, or visit www.mdhflu.com.
