WALKER — An 86-year-old Walker woman was killed and a 93-year-old Walker woman was in critical condition after the Buick Lesabre they were in broadsided a Chevy Tahoe at 5:56 p.m. Monday on Highway 371, three miles south of Walker, reported the State Patrol.
The woman killed was Mary Isakson, who was a passenger in the vehicle driven by the Walker woman, Beulah Hendricks. Hendricks was taken to the St. Joseph’s Area Health Services, a hospital in Park Rapids. Information on her condition was not available Tuesday.
Five people were in the Tahoe at the time of the accident and all were uninjured. They were Lynn Morales, 36, who was the driver, and her spouse/passenger, James Morales, 34, both of Walker; and three of Morales’ children Thomas, 9, Michael, 7, and Arlissa, 3.
It was reported that the Tahoe was south on Highway 371, when the Lesabre didn’t stop at the stop sign on Shingobee Road and broadsided the Tahoe.
