Are you sure you have the story right? Eggert is in jail for DWI.
RE: Are you sure you have the
The story says he was released from the hospital.
It appears from the photo on the 'Crow Wing County In Custody' list that he was arrested afterwards, as he's wearing a neckbrace.

Wow, you're a regular Dick Tracy. So we'll just call the story incomplete!
RE: Wow
Bob,
If you look at the 'Intake Date' on the 'In Custody' list you'll see that he was booked at 20:58 p.m.
Now, if you look at the date/time this article was posted you'll see that it was posted at 8:27 p.m. (20:27)
The information that we had when we posted the story was complete.
We are following up on this story.

"Bickford was traveling northbound in the southbound lane"
Was she going the wrong way?
As long as that makes YOU
As long as that makes YOU feel better.
Story Updated??
If the above comments are correct and the story has changed since the original post, why isnt updated??
wait, what?
The person who was driving northbound in the northbound lane is in jail after an individual who was driving on the wrong side of a divided highway and caused a head on collision, but the person who was driving on the wrong side of a divided highway is not?
Seems reasonable.
he was what?
He had to be going southbound, as she was northbound in the wrong lane. This story is not logical. Maybe Denton can clear it up for us.
you can't comprehend this?
The State Patrol reported Bickford was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Highway 371 when she collided head-on with Eggert’s vehicle. If she was northbound and hit him head on he had to be southbound. back to class with you!
Why did you change your post,
Why did you change your post, Lake?
Sounds like Bickford
Sounds like Bickford is MADD operative and went above and beyond the call of duty, sacrificing herself to get a drunk off the road
It is pretty simple. She was
It is pretty simple. She was going the wrong way and he was under the influence. Charges against her may be pending. DUI is straight to jail.
I was making a joke...
This reminds me of a story about back in the 1970's when two aquaintances wrecked their cars driving home from a night out on the town. The lead car drove off the road, and his friend followed him into the ditch. Eventually, the insurance compmnies came into play, and the insurance company representing the guy following attempted to put all the blame on the first car's driver being too drunk to drive safely, leading his client off into the ditch.
They do say it never hurts to try...
I think it was cases like that that moved the legislature to change to "no-fault" insurance.
wolf
in the first post, i called denton, denny. i still say something is wrong in the write-up.
jojammy...what is your definition of southbound lane? Mine is the one going south? Then why was she going north in it? I think dean agrees with me!
Lake
I guess you would have to ask that lady why?? After living less than
1/4 mile from where wreck happened I dont know if I have enough fingers
& toes to count how many times I have seen people in wrong lane. Cant
remember year but somewhere around 79 there was one 1/4-1/3 mile south
of this one in north bound lane. 6 or 7 didnt make it. Shame
headline
"Multiple Injuries In Head On Collision" Makes you think it was just pure carnage instead of two people being hurt, and not very seriously. I drove by and saw the mess on the road, so I am glad it gets reported what happened, but no need to over do it guys.
