Little Falls man dies in crash

A 19-year-old Little Falls man died early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 10 in Benton County.
August Barten, Little Falls, was driving a Honda Civic traveling north on Highway 10 in Rice when he collided into the driver’s side of a tractor truck.
The broadside crash was reported at 4:42 a.m. Wednesday.
The truck was traveling west on County Road 2 and crossing Highway 10 on a green light when the crash occurred. The truck driver, Joseph Walker, 56, Grey Eagle, was not reported injured. The truck he was driving was damaged severely, the State Patrol reported. The Honda was totaled in the crash.
The Benton County Sheriff’s office and the Rice Police Department responded to the scene.
Barten was not wearing a seat belt.
