More info released in Mississippi River baby case

Posted: November 18, 2011 - 5:17pm

WINONA, Minn. (AP) — Authorities are disclosing more information about the discovery of a baby girl's body in the Mississippi River more than two months ago.

They're asking for the public's help in finding a woman who was seen by a witness in a boat in the same area south of Homer where the body was found on Labor Day.

Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand says a white boat — believed to be a Sea Ray with a cabin, or a boat similar to a Sea Ray — was seen before the baby's body was found. A witness says the woman was 30 to 40 years old and appeared to be alone in the boat.

KAGE-AM (http://bit.ly/rwB3av ) reports authorities have searched both sides of the river but have found no boats matching that description.
