GRANITE FALLS, Minn. (AP) — Authorities are working to identify human remains discovered in some woods in Yellow Medicine County.
The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in Anoka is examining the remains found Saturday by a man who was scouting a spot to hunt. Yellow Medicine County Sheriff Bill Flaten says he hopes identification can be made by the end of the week.
The discovery comes nearly seven months after 27-year-old Eric Martinez Solorzano disappeared after calling his sister for a ride as he walked along a highway in the area where the remains were found.
Sheriff Flaten tells KSAX-TV (http://bit.ly/sIHiNn ) the remains had "been there awhile," but that no positive identification has been made.
