The Brainerd School Board Tuesday unanimously agreed to a two-year contract with its teachers. The contract calls for no wage increase for the 2011-2012 school year and a 2 percent salary increase in 2012-13.
In a statement released Monday the school district said that with this delay, there has been no increase to the salary schedule for three consecutive years. The agreement also calls for a reduction in teacher health benefits by increasing both the annual deductible and the out of pocket maximum paid by each employee, as well as increasing the co-payments for prescription drugs.
Brainerd School Board member Kent Montgomery was the only director who was not at Tuesday’s meeting.
