United Way's Chili Cook-Off will be on Sept. 21 at the Westgate Mall in Baxter.
From 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. the public can sample a variety of chili and help United Way kick off this year's community campaign. For $5 spectators can cast their vote for the Community Choice Winner of the best chili recipe.
At 1 p.m. the chili awards ceremony will begin on the main stage at the center of the mall. Awards will be presented for Community Choice, first - third place Corporate, first and second place Nonprofit, first place Restaurant, Best Booth, Best Costumes, and Best Gimmick Giveaway.
At 12:45 p.m., United Way Executive Director Monica Nieman will present 2010 Community Campaign Awards to companies that have demonstrated exceptional support to United Way.
In addition, the UPS Customer Center in Brainerd will be recognized as the 2010 Community Campaign Pacesetter.
Booth spaces are still available for the United Way Chili Cook-Off. For only $10 businesses can market to more than 700 people and show their support for the United Way community. The deadline for registration has been extended to Sept. 14. Registration information may be found online at www.unitedwaynow.org.
