NISSWA — Native American history in the Nisswa-Brainerd lakes area will be presented by the Nisswa Area Historical Society at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10 at Grand View Lodge in the Gull Lake Center.

Area Indian expert and historical society member Gary Parker will explore some of the dynamics of Native American interactions in the Brainerd lakes area during the mid-to-late 1800s. These include the relationships between the Ojibwa and Dakota as well as the relationships between each of these tribes and the white settlers. Special attention will be given to Chief Hole-in-the-Day and the St. Columbo Mission.
