The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday identified the man who is presumed to have drowned this past weekend on Lower Whitefish Lake as Adam Sellheim, 26, of St. Louis Park.
Sellheim was with a group of people Saturday who had been out on the Whitefish Chain on a pontoon. The group had stopped the pontoon to go swimming and entered the water. Sellheim, too, went into the lake but didn’t resurface.
At 5:56 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a report of a man missing on Lower Whitefish Lake. At 10 a.m. Sunday, Sellheim’s body was recovered in 92 feet of water.
Foul play is not suspected in Sellheim’s death, but the cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s officer in St. Paul.
The sheriff's department was assisted by DNR conservation officers, the Ideal Fire Department and the Crosslake Police Department.
