Do you know an outstanding senior citizen?
Nominate him/her for the 2011 Minnesota Outstanding Senior Citizen Award for Morrison County. Just complete the nomination form by noting the amazing things this volunteer has done to make his/her community a better place to live.
One man and one woman who are at least 70 years old by June 1, 2011, will be selected on the basis of outstanding community involvement within the county.
They will be honored at the Morrison County Fair as part of Senior Day 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 12 at the fairgrounds. The awards ceremony will be at 2 p.m.
Those selected will receive special certificates of commendation from the governor, and their names will be entered into the State Outstanding Senior Citizen Award competition. State winners will be recognized for their service at the award ceremony during the Minnesota State Fair on Senior Day, Sept. 1.
