People wishing to donate money to help defray medical expenses for assault victim Willie Navy should send money directly to Brainerd Citizens Against Violence Fund in care of Wells Fargo Bank, 424 W. Washington St., Brainerd, MN, 56401.
Donations previously sent to the bank at a post office box number were being returned, it was reported.
Navy, 53, Brainerd, was assaulted Feb. 6 after leaving a bar in downtown Brainerd, suffering severe eye injuries. Two men have been arrested and charged with several counts of assault, including felony first-degree assault and gross misdemeanor fourth-degree assault motivated by bias.
