Investigation leads to drug arrest of Aitkin woman

Posted: January 12, 2011 - 9:27pm

An ongoing investigation by the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division led to the arrest of a 41-year-old rural Aitkin woman Monday morning in Brainerd.

The woman's arrest was made at 9:24 a.m. Tuesday on the 1000 block of Quince Street, said Crow Wing County Sheriff's Lt. Dave Larson.

The woman was arrested for felony fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. She was released from Crow Wing County Jail with no criminal complaint issued. Larson said a criminal complaint is pending from the Crow Wing County Attorney's office.

Larson said though the investigation remains active no further arrests were anticipated.

Favors

Why isn't her name being released? Is it because she is a local attorney? Released with no criminal complaint filed? Seems to be a lot of favors going on.

Small town hiding the truth

this is very sad to see. I just hope that Mrs Cummings did not use her clients to access these drugs. I also hope that they check into her cases. Having an attorney that is under the influence would be cause for a lot of cases to be relooked at n possibly thrown out?

Who was the client?

You bring up an interesting point babygurl. I gotta believe that one way or another there was some abuse of her position to aquire and/or sell or use drugs. Was she defending clients or was thier client defending them? Really wish we didnt have such a controlled media in that town. I know my name would be released if it were me in her shoes.

How sad!!!

This is a very sad case. And you all are right the normal person would have had their name published for all to see. Jennifer Cummings abused her power and abused every single client she has had. There seems to be alot of things that happen behind closed doors there, and I`m sure this was also how her name was withheld. Hopefully the judges that have had her cases in front of them really review what has been going on with all her cases. I know for fact she has misrepresented some of her clients and ruined some families in the process. But like most things in that town it will be swept under the rug and forgotten. Things like this is why people don`t think the judicial process works, because when things happen to those in the inner circle how quickly things go in their favor. She needs to lose more then just the right to practice law, like maybe some real time lost from her family and to have to pay for new attorney`s to represent those she messed up. Alot of misjustice going on up there, hopefully someone wakes up before someone elses life is ruined.

Jennifer Cummings,

She must think that because she represented the law, she is above it. I don't know who found out her name but maybe they should join the BDD seeing as they could not do their job!

1000 Quince

"ARREST - At 8:34 p.m. Sunday a woman ran to a house on the 1000 block of Quince Street and said she'd been assaulted. Officers located the suspect, a 42-year-old man, and arrested him for multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct, assault and kidnapping."

I guess everyone needs to stay off that block.

Jennifer is a friend of

Jennifer is a friend of mine...and my lawyer in a couple cases. Don't judge anyone as someone is always judging you. I've got Jennifers back like she had mine.
