5K Hike for Hayden
There will be a 5K run/walk for Hayden Crouse, son of Calvin and Becky Crouse, on May 12 at the Brainerd Armory. The walk starts at 2 p.m. Cost is $20 and includes a T-shirt. Pre-registration starts at 12:30 p.m.
Mounted Eagles to host wine and hors d'oeuvres fund raiser
NISSWA - Mounted Eagles Therapeutic Horsemanship Wine and Hors D'oeuvres fund raising event is planned from 5:30-7:30 p.m. May 5 at the Nisswa American Legion.
Kenyon/Poegel benefit planned
There will be a benefit for the Kenyon/Poegel family from 4-9 p.m. April 28 at St. Mathias Pavilion. Directions: From the 210/371 intersection in Baxter, go south on 371 about nine miles.
Tim and Carla
Tim and Carla Volcke, longtime residents of Pine River, lost their home and all their belongings due to a fire in January. There will be a benefit for them on April 21 at the Pine River American Legion Post No. 613.
SWANVILLE - A benefit is planned for Nancy Pfeffer from 4-8 p.m. April 14 at the Swanville Lions Park Building. A spaghetti/meatball dinner will be served for a freewill donation.
Brainerd Lakes Area Audubon Society
Darby Nelson, aquatic ecologist, author and professor emeritus, will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Northland Arboretum for the Brainerd Lakes Area Audubon Society meeting.
Good Samaritan Society spaghetti supper and silent auction
The Good Samaritan Society-Woodland will have a spaghetti supper and silent auction from 4:30-7 p.m. March 29 at Woodland to benefit the STAR Ministry.
Brainerd Legion upcoming events
Terry and sons will serve hot beef sandwiches from 5:30 p.m. until gone Thursday at the Legion. Cost: $8.
Jinks and Lana Mulholland will serve an all-you-can-eat corned beef and cabbage dinner from noon to 4 p.m.
Brainerd Garden Club
Brainerd Garden Club will meet 1 p.m. Friday at the Northland Arboretum. Program will be growing roses up north presented by Jackie Burkey. Hostesses are Marlys Ray and Betty Holden. Visitors are welcome.
