Mary O’Brien Middleton benefit
There will be a benefit for Mary O’Brien Middleton from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Nov. 24 at the Brainerd American Legion. Cost for lunch is $5. There will be vendors, crafters and raffles.
Educational workshop planned
LITTLE FALLS — Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is hosting a free educational workshop to help adult children better understand their aging parents’ vision for the future. Called “Heart-to-Heart: As Your Parents Age,” the 90-minute workshop will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at Bethel Lutheran, 901 West Broadway, Little Falls. The workshop is presented by Beth Dahl, Thrivent Community Coordinator, and is co-sponsored by Knute Nelson Senior Care Services.
The “Heart-to-Heart” workshop is designed to help participants have healthy conversations with their parents to enable them to feel more secure about their future. It is also designed to help participants (adult children), their siblings and extended family be better prepared to take on roles and responsibilities for their parents should circumstances require it.

The Crow Wing County Historical Society Board of Directors meet the third Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Museum. Brainerd Lakes Area Early Childhood Coalition
The Brainerd Lakes Area Early Childhood Coalition in partnership with Essentia Health will be offering Boot Camp for New Dads from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Boot Camp for New Dads is a nationally licensed program, facilitated by men, which is designed to give expectant fathers a place to learn from experienced fathers. Encore Arts Association
Encore Arts Association is meeting at the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center, 803 Kingwood, Brainerd, at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Jan Roberts will talk about an acrylic Folk Art Class she took recently at the Concordia Language Village in Bemidji, and a class in Crosslake taught by Dan Weimer using both watercolor and acrylic. She will bring projects from these classes to show and discuss.

Senior dance
