Benefit dinner and raffle planned for Henry Rushmeyer
There will be a benefit dinner and raffle for Henry Rushmeyer beginning at 4 p.m. June 18 at the American Legion in Brainerd.
Rushmeyer fell down his basement stairs in March, breaking his neck and causing bleeding on the brain. He has no feeling or movement on his left side and is unable to swallow. Because of the severity of his injuries, Rushmeyer was flown to St. Cloud Hospital where he is receiving his care. He has undergone neck surgery and has had a tracheotomy tube and feeding tube placed. The money raised from the benefit will help defer medical expenses and to pay for housing remodeling to make his home accessible.
For those who would like to donate money can do so at Brainerd Savings and Loan. For those who want to donate items for the raffle, contact Tiffany at 839-9033 or Stacey at 232-4166.
