at Grace UMC
PEQUOT LAKES — Grace UMC of Pequot Lakes welcomes you to attend Advent season worship services at 9 a.m. Sunday mornings. Pastor Dianne Ciesluk will be basing her Advent and Christmas Eve sermons on the book “Finding Bethlehem in the Midst of Bedlam” by James Moore.
On Sunday, the sermon title is “Love Came Down at Christmas.” Special prelude music will be presented by the Grace Bell Choir at 8:40 a.m. in the sanctuary. On Dec. 22, the sermon title will be “The Precious Memories of Christmas.” Sunday School children will sing during the service. A time of coffee and goodies follows each service. Nursery is provided.
Celebrate with us on Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. as luminarias light the way to a Candlelight worship service as we welcome the baby in the manger. There will be scripture readings and lovely music. Pastor Dianne will preach on “Mind the Light.”

■ ‘The Mouse’s Tale’ to be presented
Bethel Lutheran Sunday school classes and confirmation students will present its annual Christmas program at the 9 a.m. service Sunday. The title of this year’s program is “The Mouse’s Tale,” which leads to the birth of the Savior in the stable in Bethlehem. Coffee fellowship will follow the program.
Bethel is located at the intersection of Thompson Road and Five Mile Road.
Annual Trinity Christmas song services at Trinity Lutheran
The annual Christmas song services will be Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church at 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The service will feature various Trinity musical groups along with congregational singing. A coffee hour will be held between services. Groups that will be performing include the TLC Singers, the Trinity Bells, the Trinity Flutes, the Trinity Gospel Group and the AWE Team. A special feature will be a performance by Common Thread, featuring Paola Jo Sederquist, Mark “Bud” Sederquist, Maren Sederquist and Randy Olson.
The Wednesday evening Advent worship services with Holy Communion are held at 6 p.m. with a meal served in the Fellowship Hall at 5:15 p.m.

On Saturday, the community is invited to a cookie walk and mini bazaar at First Lutheran, 424 South Eighth Street, Brainerd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees are asked to enter the church via the Norwood Street doors. Christmas cookies, Krumkake, rosettes, lefse, crafts items and more will be for sale. Homemade vegetable beef soup with bun, bar and beverage will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at a cost of $5. Coffee and bars will also be available to purchase.
Blue Jeans Sunday will be held at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services at First Lutheran in Brainerd on Sunday. $1 will be collected from individuals wearing jeans while $2 will be collected from those failing to wear jeans. Proceeds will benefit “Operation Christmas,” a youth initiative to provide food supplements to families in need during the Christmas school break.
On Sunday, the FLC Sunday school students will present their annual Christmas program at 4 p.m. Parents are reminded to bring a dozen cookies to share and to have their child/children at church by 3:30 p.m. The students should meet in the basement. The congregation and guests are invited to a delicious fellowship meal following the program in Koinonia.

The children of Park UMC will present its Christmas program “Follow the Star” during the 9:30 a.m. service, Sunday.
The program is a joyous reminder of why the “wise men” of the Christmas story sought after Christ and why we still do today. More commonly referred to as the “three wise men” or “three kings,” the journey of the Magi is an amazing story of obedience, faith and worship. Join the Children of Park Church as they tell you the fantastic story of these three companions as they set their sights on a bright star in heavens that would ultimately lead them to the Christ-child, the King of all kings.
■ ‘Happy birthday, Jesus’ party at CCC
NISSWA — The AWANA program will celebrate with a “Happy birthday, Jesus” party on Wednesday at Christ Community Church, 24646 Hazelwood Drive, Nisswa. The party will begin with a taco fellowship supper at 5:15 p.m. with songs, crafts, games and cupcakes to follow. There will be no class time.
AWANA will not meet again until Jan. 8 due to the Christmas break and New Year’s.
■ Brainerd Lakes Area Ministerial Association
On Tuesday, the Brainerd Lakes Area Ministerial Association will be meeting over breakfast at the Sawmill Inn, 601 Washington Street, Brainerd, from 8-9 a.m. Our purpose for gathering will be to encourage, support and pray for one another. The fellowship together will allow us to get to know each other personally. This will produce the added benefits of mutual trust and respect among our colleagues. Since the Ministerial Association is a network of professional clergy which crosses all denominational lines, we invite all area pastors to join us.
