■ Foundation of Personal Finance begins Jan. 4
Eighty-nine percent of teens want to learn how to make their money grow. Yet, for decades, very few schools have provided any type of money-management instruction. Foundations in Personal Finance is a turn-key curriculum designed to provide students with sound financial principles that will guide them into adulthood.
Personal finance expert Dave Ramsey will educate and entertain students as they learn how to avoid debt and build wealth. This course meets benchmarks and standards in all 50 states, as well as the national standards suggested by the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.
Students will see how simple saving habits can lead to becoming a millionaire later. They will be equipped to confidently discuss money issues and plan for their own financial future. They will be engaged with interesting and relevant material they love to discuss.
This class on finance for high school students is a 12-week DVD course by Dave Ramsey. Each class runs for approximately an hour. The class begins Jan. 4 with a free informational preview at 1 p.m. at Oak Street Christian School located at 2910 Oak St, building C in Brainerd.
Ken and Jane Rannow, certified Dave Ramsey instructors, will lead the class. Call 825-9498 for more information and to register.

■ Taize Prayer
LITTLE FALLS — The Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls invite the public to join them for Taize Prayer on Thursday from 6-7 p.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. Taize Prayer is a reflective, meditative prayer with repetitively sung chants. Gather in a sacred space for an hour with the beauty of lighted candles and the San Damiano Cross, and in contemplative silence to experience Christ’s presence. Encounter the mystery of God through the beauty of simplicity. Allow yourself to be open and receptive and let the prayers permeate your mind. Hear scripture readings, prayer petitions and songs initiated by a song leader. Relax and join in prayer and song as you feel comfortable. In the sacred space of contemplative silence God often touches us deeply, and healing and transformation happen. Taize Prayer is open to the public the first Thursday of the month.
