Outdoor gospel concert

The Malmo Free Church is pleased to present The Alzen Family from Roberts, Wis., in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Brad and Denise Alzen and their six children enjoy making old-time toe-tapping music together and sharing it with friends. Their music highlights the high-energy singing and playing of the Alzen children, featuring the gals on fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica. The boys and dad round out the band with guitar, bass, washboard, and musical saw. To add a visual dimension, Denise also uses sign language to give added expression to songs. The Alzen family recently expanded their family by adopting two boys, ages 10 and 7 from Ukraine.

The Alzen Family plays bluegrass and gospel music. Malmo Church is located near the junction of Highways 47 and 18 on Highway 18 near the northeast corner of Lake Mille Lacs.
