The week at Trinity Lutheran
Lenten services are continuing at Trinity Lutheran Church of Brainerd at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Pastor Hans Anderson will be speaking on the Lenten theme, “The Spending Crisis.” The worship time will follow the Holden Evening Prayer Service.
The 2012 Lenten services is focusing on the theme of “The Road To Recovery.” The six-week program will begin with a sermon on the given topic at the Holden Evening Prayer Service. After a short break, there will be a video presentation at 6:45 p.m. A small group discussion with a dessert time will follow the video and will finish by 8 p.m. Persons can attend all or part of the Lenten evening activities. “The Road to Recovery” is about advancing the Kingdom of God as we turn back to God’s way of handling our resources. This is a series presented by Andy Stanley. It is open to members and non-members free of charge. Child care will be available.
A Lenten supper will be served by the AWE group and the Wednesday evening Bible study. The supper begins at 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Sunday services with Holy Communion will be held at 8:15 p.m. and 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Hans Anderson preaching. Education Hour, the new member class and coffee hour will be held between services.

Quilt and ham Bingo
HILLMAN — A quilt and ham Bingo will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family Youth Center, Bulldog Lake, Hillman on CR 8 eight miles north of Hwy. 27 and four miles south of Pine Center.
The quilts are tied, or hand quilted, machine embroidered. Cards are $3 per card for 10 games, 20 games played, 10 quilts and 10 hams given away plus two blackouts at $3 per card.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church Lenten services
For the fifth Sunday in Lent, Bethlehem Lutheran Church will have worship at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. At 9:40 a.m., between worship services, they will have the semi-annual meeting. Sunday school resumes and they will be studying the
Last Supper. On Wednesday, catechism students serving soup and sandwiches at 5:30 p.m., followed by Lenten worship at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. Pastor Mark will lead a book study based on Dr. Terence Fretheim’s “Creation Untamed.” Catechism and Senior High Youth Group also takes place at 7 p.m. A new member class will be coming up in April. UCC adult forum
Spencer Hegstad is this Sunday’s speaker at First Congregational United Church of Christ’s Adult Forum, which begins after the 10 a.m. worship. Hegstad, a frequent traveler, will talk about his experiences living in Germany and his time serving as an au pair with a European family. Brainerd Lakes Area Ministerial Association
On Tuesday, the Brainerd Lakes Area Ministerial Association will be meeting over breakfast at the Brainerd Lakes Cafe, 2115 South Sixth St., Brainerd, from 8-9 a.m. Our purpose for gathering will be to encourage, support and pray for one another. The fellowship together will allow us to get to know each other personally. This will produce the added benefits of mutual trust and respect among our colleagues. Since the Ministerial Association is a network of professional clergy which crosses all denominational lines, we invite all area pastors to join us.
On Sunday, First Lutheran Church, 424 South Eighth St., Brainerd, will welcome Pastor Dennis Paulson as interim pastor. Worship will be 8 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. Coffee fellowship will be 9:15 a.m. in Koinonia to welcome Pastor Paulson. We will also be welcoming back the FLC Mission Team returning from their Mission Trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. A Mexican market is planned between services and an authentic Mexican meal and market is also planned following the second worship service at approximately 11:45 a.m.
Wednesday Lenten services will continue at First Lutheran. Each Wednesday in Lent, services will be held at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Lenten Soup suppers will be served beginning at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday’s Lenten theme will be “Walking with Jesus to the Cross.”
Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church mid-week Lenten service
On Wednesday, Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church will have Lenten services featuring Barabbas, the World’s Choice. How would you deal with being picked to go free at the expense of the life of the sinless Jesus? Soup and sandwiches at 5:30 p.m. and service at 7 p.m. with choir practice following.

Community concert planned Saturday
This year Bridges of Hope will celebrate 10 years of service to the lakes area with a community concert at Lord of Life Church in Baxter at 2 p.m. Saturday. Entertainment will be provided by the Lord of Life Worship Band. The event is family-friendly.
Scandinavian market bake and craft sale
Brainerd Laestadian Church will have its Scandinavian market bake and craft sale from 8 am. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Pasties, cardamom bread, pies, yeast rolls, cookies, etc., will be available. There will also be children’s clothing at clearance prices and lacy accessory scarves.
