Post Executive board meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday at the Brainerd Legion. A walleye dinner by a special chef will be served from 5:30 p.m. until gone Thursday at the Legion. Cost: $10. Save $1 when you purchase a dinner pre-sale ticket at the club by Wednesday.
Bataan veteran Peck turning 90
Henry Peck of Merrifield, a survivor of the Bataan Death March, will be honored at a surprise birthday party from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 1 at the Good Samaritan Society-Bethany in south Brainerd. Friends are invited to greet Peck as he celebrates his 90th birthday. No gifts please.
Kids' Christmas party planned
Kids' Christmas party will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Brainerd Eagles Club, 124 Front St., Brainerd.
New Year's Eve event planned
JENKINS - VFW Post No. 3839, Jenkins, will celebrate New Year's Eve at 5 p.m. with a meat raffle and a ribeye steak dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $25 for two. Call for reservations at 568-8664.
AMVETS Post No. 26
AMVETS Post No. 26 has changed its meeting place and time effective Jan. 7, 2011. They will now meet at the Brainerd VFW Post No. 1647 the first Friday of each month at noon. All veterans with an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge are eligible to join.

Encore Arts Association
Encore Arts Association will celebrate the holiday season Tuesday at the home of Sandy Walker, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Bring your favorite hors de oeuvres.
