Dance 'N America, dance in Brainerd

The Brainerd High School Orchestra program will present a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Tornstrom Auditorium. The concert is a benefit for the Brainerd Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen.

Rhythmic Circus will perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Centennial Auditorium in Staples as part of the Staples Motley Area Arts Council music series.

Dance 'N America, a program of dance similar to the TV show "Dancing with the Stars," will perform a dance reality show at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd.

The eight-member dance show is part of the annual Lakes Area Concert Series. In the show, the audience decides, with the help of an applause meter, which dancer will win the prize for the night.

The scripted show was designed by James Sewell, who will be the master of ceremonies. The dances are choreographed to fun tunes such as Scott Joplin's "Ragtime," Dueling Banjos bluegrass and Patsy Cline's "Crazy."

Season memberships will be available before the concert at a reduced price for the remaining concerts in the 2010-11 series, which include Ilya Yakushev, March 1; River City 6, March 15; and The Brett Family, May 6; and concerts in Wadena, Alexandria, Park Rapids and Sauk Centre.
