January was National Mentoring Month. As a result, Kinship challenged our community to come together and wipe out Kinship’s waiting list. We came close, bringing in over 30 new mentors! However, as new mentors were applying, additional children applied to be a junior partner. There are still many kids waiting for a mentor, and now is as good as time as any to invest in a child, yourself, and our community.
Who: Shane
Age: 9
Where: Brainerd
Interests: Shane is a man’s man. He enjoys sports, bike riding, bowling, miniature golf, swimming, fishing, television, and movies. Shane is looking for a partner who is strong, really good at sports, and a little goofy.
Personality Traits: Shane is fun and outgoing. He would describe himself as happy, friendly, smart, talkative, fun-loving, and goofy.
Shane says the reason why he wants a Kinship Partner is, “To have fun with someone who has the time for me, because my dad died.” Shane lives with his mother and could really benefit from a man who could spend some time with him, have some fun, and be a positive role-model in his life.
Did you know that Kinship Partners serves families in Crow Wing and Cass counties by providing positive role models to youth from the ages of 5 to 14? We have offices in Brainerd, Pequot Lakes, and Crosby.
