Year: Sophomore.

Art focus: Chamber Orchestra.
Adviser nomination: Smith has been a member of the Chamber Orchestra for four years, Central Lakes Conference Honors Orchestra for three years, received superior awards at the solo-ensemble contest, been involved in the mid level honors orchestra for three years and played first violin in the Minnesota All State Orchestra as a freshman.
Art activities: Symphonic band, she plays the clarinet.
What do you like about the violin: "When I first started it I hated to practice. But the more I played it the better I became and then I liked it. There is something about it that I love, but I can't say what it is."
Working on right now: "We're working on our February concert. We're going to be accompanying Rebecca Yeh who is doing a solo."
Artist most admired: Former violin teacher Julie Tertin, formerly of Brainerd.
Memorable fine arts achievement: Making it into the Minnesota All-State Orchestra as a freshman.
GPA: 4.0.
Favorite movie: "Drumline."
Favorite TV series: "Cake Boss."
Favorite book: Twilight Series."
Best thing about Thanksgiving: "Being with my family and seeing everyone who I haven't seen for awhile."
What are you thankful for: "My family."

Honorable mention: Ariel Peterson, senior, art: The art adviser said, "Ariel has excelled in a number of BHS art classes. She is highly creative, hard working and a joy to have in class. Her artwork is always quality work and fun to view."
