JORDAN, Minn. (AP) — A 12-year-old boy who is dying from a rare neurological disorder will temporarily get to stay with his mother.

Rachele Chrismer tells KARE-TV (http://kare11.tv/UjtwMl ) that a Scott County judge ordered her 12-year-old son, Zach West, to temporarily stay in her home. The judge made the decision during an emergency hearing Friday.

The boy is receiving hospice care and his medical staff believes moving him could make things worse.

The judge had previously ruled the father, Mike West, could bring him to Lakeville every other weekend beginning Friday.

Chrismer has invited the boy’s father to see him every day at her Jordan home. But West wants to see his son in a private setting before he dies.

A hearing is scheduled next Friday to decide the matter.
