A TRAPPER'S CABIN on the south shore of Cross Lake near the dike November 5, 1908. The trapper shown in the photo was a meat supplier to the government camps where the brother of Mrs. James Ellwood and Keith and Erna Haselknost were the camp cooks for the dike laborers. At the top of the photo is Mrs. James Ellwood (mother of Robert Ellwood) with cousin Helen Bernhardt.
