Twenty-six teenagers met in a shack in the Falconer back yard 60 years ago and organized the South East Brainerd club. The date was Oct. 5, 1911. Later, the headquarters was moved to 1812 Oak Street.
First officers were; Oscar F. Erickson, president; Frank Alexander, vice president; George (Swede) Erickson, secretary; and Anton (Tony) Anderson, treasurer.
Among aims adopted by the club were "to promote good fellowship, ice skating, hockey, sleigh rides and baseball." in The South East Brainerd club, cooperation with the Booster Band, was the first organization to sponsor a July 4 celebration in the then new Lum Park.
