♦  Front Street in 1883 was a row of little stores mixed with saloons, boarding houses and some general merchandising establishments.

History of Telephone Goes Back 90 Years
♦  The history of telephones in Brainerd goes back nearly 90 years but the first 25 were not very productive.

Unions Have Been Vital Force Here
♦  Labor unions which have been a force in Brainerd life for nearly 80 years, got their start here in 1891.
