Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera turned the singing of our National Anthem into a similar fiasco as some we have seen in the past.  Instead of "O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming" she turned the lyric into "what so proudly we watched at the twilight's last [unintelligable lyric]."  Why do producers of these huge events ensure that someone other than the likes of this woman be afforded this great responsibility.

As a veteran of more than seven years of service in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam era, I place my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the most important in my life category.  Second in importance comes my family and in third with an almost nonexistant separation from the first two comes our great nation.  I know men from all the wars of my lifetime including a good friend who fought in numerous battles of WWII, another hero of the Korean Conflict (war).  Another man I grew up with is a living holder of our nations highest honor, The Medal of Honor.  My neighbor is a disabled veteran from service in Afghanistan.  It is likely that most would say that none of us can sing worth a squat!

But, I will guarantee you that none of us would mess up the lyrics of this marvelous piece lauding the accomplishments and history of our country.  I will go a step further and state that each of us would ask all in attendence and at home to sing along with us as an assembledge of proud citizens of The United States of America.

I hope that many of you feel as I do,
