Just for you John Galt:
The most commonly-heard conservative complaint about the Obama-care plan is that it is "unconstitutional"
Well, maybe. If you take the narrow view that health care insurance is a product, not unlike any other product, and that Government seems to want to force us to purchase a product. We wouldn't want the government to tell us what toothpaste to use.
But is there room for a wider view; one that renews the idea that everyone's life is worth saving and that everyone is valuable?

wouldn't you be then forcing a lifestyle on people that don't agree with it? At the same time that you profess your last sentence, you are then saying that others have a right to oppose abortion or gay rights. Before you squeal like a gut shot panther, think about it. What gives Obama and you the right to demand this at the same time you demand total acceptance of the other two subjects? As an aside, Obama care is destroying my health care insurance. You will be happy to hear that it may shorten my time aggrivating you on this forum.
I'm not following.
The link between health care and abortion or gay rights is pretty tenuous, FnB. Could you explain yourself a little more thoroughly?
Affordable Care Act Has Too Many Merits To List Here
I understand that one of the goals originally was to actually start dealing with the huge increases in medical costs in this country over many years. Since medical costs are the leading cause of chapter 11 ,its about time something was accomplished on a national level. Somebody out there must have a list of other ways to actually attempt to preserve Medicare ,besides handing out voucher coupons so Sr citizens & others with pre-exsisting conditions have a couple bucks to try and buy a policy. Pretty certain thats not the answer ,no one could afford that kind of "solution". Think affordable ....care.... Even Mitt thought health care reform was a good idea until he changed his mind.
