“I’m an avid reader and so is my granddaughter. My children are avid readers. We take care of our granddaughter twice a week and we bring her to the library once a month to get a resupply of books. Today I have 15 books picked out.”
‰ Favorite author: “Nora Roberts and my other favorite is Karen Kingsbury.”
‰ Favorite book: “High Noon” by Nora Roberts.
‰ Shaelie’s favorite book: “She enjoys anything with ‘Sesame Street,’ ‘Curious George’ and she likes ‘Martha the Talking Dog.’”
‰ What was your career?: “I was a human resource director for 20-plus years and then I was a finance manager at LSS (Lutheran Social Services) for five years. I retired in 2008.”
‰ Pets: “I have two terriers. I train my own dogs for obedience training. My terrier Katie just turned 6 and she won the Companion Dog Excellence award and many other ribbons and titles. I compete mainly in Minnesota and I belong to the Brainerd Kennel Club.”
‰ Name two characteristics people would say about you: “That I’m strong willed and outgoing.”
‰ Favorite dish to make: “Spaghetti sauce from scratch, that is what my family loves.”
‰ Your faith: “My spiritual life is a big part of my life. I love volunteering and I volunteer with the Lakes Area Interfaith Caregiver in Pequot Lakes.”
