Class of 1950 to meet for lunch

The Class of 1950 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 13, at the Sage on Laurel restaurant.

Members and friends are encouraged to attend.

Brainerd Eagles Club breakfast

The Brainerd Eagles Club breakfast will be 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, July 8, at 124 Front St., Brainerd, featuring the Eagles' special for $8.

194th Regiment to meet

The 194th Regiment meeting will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, at the Brainerd National Guard Armory.

Agenda will include an update on the Habitat building, a history presentation by Fred Donner, and guest speaker Mary Fedor on the Good Samaritan Hospice Volunteer Program.

The Center's Morning Club meeting planned

The Center's Morning Club will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd.

Presenter will be Vicki Foss, director of the Arboretum.

Class of 1966 to meet

Lunch for the Class of 1966 will be 11:30 a.m. Monday July 9, at Jeanne Larson's house.

Backus Legion July events

BACKUS—A pig roast, bean bag tournament, dance and 4-H benefit dinner are included in events at the Backus American Legion in July.

Pork on a bun, sweet corn and potato salad will be served at the pig roast beginning 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14, for $10 a plate. A bean bag tourney with a $10 entry fee for two-person teams will start at 2 p.m. with sign up at 1:30 pm. Prize payout for the first three teams is 100 percent plus an added purse.

On Sunday, July 15, the Frankie Lamb Band returns, playing classic country, pop, old time and swing from 2-5 p.m. That's followed by a Northern Stars 4-H Club benefit dinner with chicken by Barb Frederick, from 5 p.m. until gone.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Class of 1951 will meet Monday, July 9.

The Legion Riders will meet 7 p.m. Monday July, 9.

The 40 et 8 will meet 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 10.

MDAA will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11.

The special dinner for Friday, July 13, will be Bob Harting's BBQ ribs for $11. Walleye dinner is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt guild to meet Monday

BAXTER—The Pinetree Patchworkers Quilt guild will meet 6:30 p.m. July 9, at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter.

The July program will feature Taunja Kelvington from the Carried Away Quilting blog. She will have a trunk show and show her patterns.

The Brainerd Retired Firepeople will meet 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, for breakfast at Front Street Cafe.

Annual picnic of the Crow Wing County Fair set planned for Monday

The annual picnic of the Crow Wing County Fair will be Monday, July 9, in the curling building at the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds.

Social hour will be 5 p.m. with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. and regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m.

All association members are invited to attend. Brats, buns, beverages, plates and utensils provided by the fair.

Senior dances

Senior dances will be from 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at the Motley Ten-Hi with music by Frank and Fran; from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Waukenabo with music by Jerry's Dance Band; 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Little Falls Senior Center with music by Jerry's Dance Band; and from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at the Backus Legion with music by Frankly Country.
