Crow Wing County Genealogical Society to meet

The Crow Wing County Genealogical Society will host a research meeting Thursday, April 26, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Family History Center, 101 Buffalo Hills Lane, Brainerd.

Program: This meeting is for research and as a social gathering open to the public. Several members will be present to assist you in your research. Anyone interested in Genealogy is welcome to attend.

Research and social hours will be from 6-8 p.m. For questions, call 218-828-9178 or 218-851-4819.

The Center's Morning Club meeting set

The Center's Morning Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, at The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd.

The presenter will be Jeff Johnson, CLC English/poetry instructor.

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

Commander Rick will host a breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, April 22, at the Legion. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for kids.

The special dinner for Friday, April 27, will be jumbo shrimp for $11. Walleye dinner is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

Nisswa Garden Club to meet Thursday

NISSWA—The Nisswa Garden Club will meet Thursday, April 26, at the Nisswa Community Center. Note the change in location for this meeting

Social hour and check-in will begin at noon. Lunch will be served by Ernie's Restaurant at 12:30 p.m. followed by the business meeting.

The program entitled "Spring into Color" will be presented by Chanda Gebhardt from Fairview Gardens. Coordinator is Jill Macnamara. The host is Jan Cummings.

Upcoming programs include the "Annual Spring Garden Party" at The Treehouse in May with Jim Sherwood as the speaker, "Lilies: The Aristocrats of the Garden" in June by Jennifer Knutson and the "Festival of Tables" on July 26.

The Club's annual plant sale will be held on June 2, or June 9, in the event of rain, at Schaefer's parking lot.

Non-members with an interest in gardening are welcome.

Nisswa Women's Club to host fashion show and luncheon

NISSWA—The Nisswa Women's Club is holding its 35th annual scholarship benefit fashion show and luncheon on May 29 at Madden's Town Hall.

Social time and raffles begin at 10:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon followed by the fashion show at 1 p.m.

Attendees will be entertained by Scott Lykins of the Lakes Area Music Festival during the social hour. Ken Thomas and Tess Taylor of WJJY's morning "Wake Up Show" are the emcees.

The theme this year is "Minnesota in Full Bloom." Luncheon tickets are $45 and can be purchased by contacting Carol Christofferson at 218-963-2335. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Nisswa Chamber.

The club provides scholarships to local high school seniors and non-traditional women students at Central Lakes College as well as other charitable donations.

Class of 1957 luncheon planned

The Washington High School class of 1957 will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at Northwind Grille.

Alpha Chapter No. 23 OES will meet 7 p.m. Monday, April 23, at the Masonic Hall.

Wadena Whirlaways to dance

WADENA—The Wadena Whirlaways Square Dancers will be hosting a dance Thursday, April 26, at the VFW in Wadena.

Royce Nelson is the caller and Donna Stone the cuer. Theme is "Fiesta."

Plus dancing begins at 7:30 p.m. and mainstream dancing at 8 p.m.

Conservative Social planned

A conservative social for youths and millennials ages 18-39 is planned for 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Northern Cowboy Flame N' Brew, 19090 Highway 371, Brainerd.

Light casual dress code.

This event is an opportunity for youths and millennials to get out and share their values and opinions.
