The WHS class of 1954 will meet 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grizzly's.

CWC Genealogical Society meeting set

The Crow Wing County Genealogical Society will meet Thursday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Family History Center, 101 Buffalo Hills Lane, Brainerd.

Program: Jan Tropp will talk about researching without microfilms, what's online and how getting materials online is progressing.

Social hour will be from 6-7 p.m. with the program and meeting to follow.

Pine River-Backus Boy Scout Troop No. 73 annual pancake breakfast

The Pine River-Backus Boy Scout Troop No. 73 annual pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 25 at the Pine River American Legion Post No. 613.

Cost: Adults, $8; kids 4-10, $5; infants 0-3, free.

This fundraising event is used to help offset the cost to the individual Scouts attending summer camp.

The Center Morning Club to meet

The Center's Morning Club will meet 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at The Center, 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd.

Presenter will be Sarah Shaw, Sage on Laurel restaurant.

Wadena Whirlaways Square Dancers to host dance

WADENA—The Wadena Whirlaways Square Dancers will host a dance Thursday at the VFW in Wadena.

Richard Miller is the caller. The theme is "Think Spring." Plus dancing begins at 7:30 p.m. and mainstream dancing at 8 p.m.

BHS class of 1965 to meet

The Brainerd High School class of 65 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Northern Cowboy Flame N' Brew (the old Iven's).

Brainerd Legion upcoming events

The Post membership meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday. A vote will be taken on a proposal to amend the bylaws.

The special dinner for Friday will be Bob Harting's barbecue ribs for $11. Walleye is also available for $11. Serving begins at 5 p.m.

C-I class of 1958 to meet

CROSBY—The Crosby-Ironton class of 1958 will meet noon Wednesday at the Crosby Bar.

Nisswa Garden Club meeting set

NISSWA—The Nisswa Garden Club will meet Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa.

Social hour and check-in will begin at noon. Lunch for $13 will be served by Ernie's Restaurant at 12:30 p.m. followed by the business meeting.

The program entitled "Beware: Within the Plant Kingdom Lurks Evil" will be presented by Jennifer Knutson, Crow Wing County UMN Extension Master Gardener. Coordinator is Carol Alverson. Doreen Mahoney is the host.

Upcoming programs include "Spring into Color" by Chanda Gebhardt in April, the "Annual Spring Garden Party" at The Treehouse in May with Jim Sherwood as the speaker, and "Lilies: The Aristocrats of the Garden" in June by Jennifer Knutson.

The club's annual plant sale will be June 2, or June 9 in the event of rain, at Schaefer's parking lot.

Non-members with an interest in gardening are welcome. For lunch reservations, call Marie Boudrye at 218-963-7494. Program presentation begins after 1 p.m.

STAPLES—The Staples High School class of 1953 will celebrate its 65th reunion at a luncheon Aug. 25, at Timbers Restaurant in Staples.

The gathering is planned during the annual Staples Railroad Days' Celebration.

A senior dances will be from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainerd Blue Room with music by Jerry's Dance Band.

Final community Lenten fish fry planned

STAPLES—The final community Lenten fish fry will be from 4:30-7 p.m. March 23 at the Sacred Heart Church in Staples.

Takeout available. It's all-you-can-eat. Seniors get a discount and children under 4 are free.
