Brainerd Lakes Community Job Fair set Aug. 7

Rural Minnesota Concentrated Employment Program (CEP), a Minnesota WorkForce Center partner, announced the Brainerd Lakes Community Job Fair to be hosted in partnership with U.S. Representative Chip Cravaack and the Brainerd Lakes Chamber from 4-7 p.m., Aug. 7, at the Crow Wing County Community Services Building, 204 Laurel St., in Brainerd.

Brainerd lakes area employers and organizations are being invited to participate to share with job seekers current job openings and training opportunities.

The Job Fair will be offered at no cost to employers or job seekers.

Rural Minnesota CEP will also offer a “Job Fair Boot Camp” at the WorkForce Center on Aug. 2. Several job search training and assistance topics are planned. Anyone interested in help with their resumes, or to enhance their interviewing skills, should contact the WorkForce Center at 828-2450.

Companies and organizations that wish to participate should contact the WorkForce Center at 828-2450.

The goal is to provide unemployed and under-employed workers in the Brainerd lakes area with an opportunity to meet with employers that are currently seeking employees or have plans to expand in the future.

Employers confirmed to attend as of July 23 include: Art Institutes of Minneapolis, Ascensus of Brainerd, AT&T Mobile of Baxter, BNSF Railway, Bremer Bank of Brainerd, Clow Stamping of Merrifield, Costco, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center of Crosby, Crow Wing County Veteran Services, Employment Resource Center of Brainerd, Essentia Health, Graphic Packaging of Crosby, Heartland Recovery Services of Baxter, Lakewood Health System of Staples, Lutheran Social Services, Oakridge Homes-Woodview Support Services, Riverside Assisted Living of Pillager, St. Cloud VA Health Care System - Brainerd VA Clinic, U.S. Steel of Mountain Iron and Wells Fargo of Brainerd.

Training providers confirmed to attend as of July 23, include: Central Lakes College – Health Sciences, Manufacturing Technology, St. Cloud Technical College – CDL training program, and College of St. Scholastica – Brainerd Campus.
