Heisserer named Central Lakes College Admissions and Advising Director
Nick Heisserer of Pillager has been named Director of Admissions and Advising at Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples. He had been the college’s registrar since 2010.
Heisserer has been employed at CLC since 2004. Until 2008 he served as assistant director and senior academic adviser in the Upward Bound program. He served as interim director of TRIO/Upward Bound for one year before joining the Business Management faculty as instructor in 2009.
A former Bemidji High School social studies teacher and track coach, Heisserer earned his bachelor’s degree from Bemidji State University, majoring in social studies with a minor in history. In 2008 he earned his master’s in management from the College of St. Scholastica. He has participated in numerous initiatives at CLC, from student learning assessment to self-study relating to the Higher Learning Commission accreditation process.
He is an active community volunteer in support of crisis assistance, poverty reduction, and family empowerment.
STAPLES — Lakewood Health System was recently awarded a Best-in-Class Seal by HR Solutions.
The honor is rewarded to select organizations whose employee survey scores are within the top 10 percent of Employee Engagement and Overall Job Satisfaction levels.
“I want to congratulate you and your employees for having the second highest Overall Job Satisfaction score and the third highest Actively Engaged score among our 2011 participants on HR Solutions International’s Employee Engagement Survey,” said Kevin A. Sheridan, senior vice-president at HR Solutions, in a news release. “I cannot tell you how happy I am for you and the rest of your organization. This accomplishment is firsthand evidence that Lakewood Health System is a cut above the rest.”
The names of the award winners will be sent to national publications such as Chicago Tribune, HR Magazine, The New York Times and USA TODAY. Lakewood also received an etched glass award to commemorate the honor.
“Being identified as Best-in-Class truly recognizes the exceptional team we have at Lakewood,” Lakewood President Tim Rice said in a news release. “Every day, I am impressed by their passion and dedication to go above and beyond in making a difference for our customers. It is only fitting that this distinction be bestowed upon people who really are the best in class. They definitely have earned this recognition.”
