The 1940's Radio Hour is community theater at its finest up in Pequot Lakes, presented by the GLAPA group. I attended the Sunday afternoon show, which can be more subdued than an evening performance, but it wasn't. It was full of life and energy, beautiful costumes, and interesting scenery. I love it when the band is on stage, as in this show, so that they are part of the effect. They are cast members. Three cheers and a hand massage for the pianist, Renee Anderson. I know how hard you had to work! The music and musicians were phenomenal.

BEHIND THE SCENES - the story behind the photo

I was on my way to an assignment in Jenkins to get pictures of an orchard and quite suddenly found myself stuck in Road Construction Purgatory for the sin of believing that I could go from Nisswa to Pequot Lakes without any trouble.  Silly me.

Recently I was assigned to photograph the girls basketball clash between Esko and Pequot Lakes. A point of interest of that night was that Pequot Lakes Patriot Emily Lueck was poised to surpass her 2000 point in her high school basketball career. It was unknown if the game would be stopped when Lueck passed the mark or not. As it turned out the game was not stopped when Lueck hit the basket breaking the 2000 point mark. Many parents struggle with capturing their children on the field, court or pool during sporting events.
