Breakfast is served

My latest food stop was at The Lakes Grill & Bar, north of Baxter on Highway 371 and across from Brainerd International Raceway.
The story and photos may be found on the food page of today’s (Thursday, April 26) Brainerd Dispatch.
One thing you won’t find in that story was the fact that breakfast will be served at the eatery.
I didn’t mention it in my story because I didn’t go there for breakfast. I’m usually not up that early.
But looking at the menu there are a few things I would be interested in trying.

My new adventure

Grand View Lodge’s Cru restaurant in Nisswa will be the setting tonight.
I’m heading there to experience the talents of chef Paul Fitzpatrick and enjoy the atmosphere created by manager Christine Ianelli.

Bad foods, good foods, red foods, blue foods

I'm confused - and I'm sure I'm not the only one.  Back in my youth food was not as perplexing as it is now.  Breakfast was pancakes & sausage with syrup.  Lunch was probably mac & cheese. For dinner Mom would pop a roast out of the oven and set it by the bowl of steaming carrots and potatoes and we were eating health.  Apparently that is sooo 1970's.

Never fails – every year that I’ve worked at the Dispatch I suddenly have the urge in the middle of the winter to start tunneling through the snow mountain that sits directly between our building and the Wendy’s right across the street. 

One, Two, how about you? Three, Four, have some more!

My Family has a problem.  We have no self control.

I didn't notice it at first, it all started out so innocently.... "There are plenty of cookies, I'll have another" I would think to myself.  Or, "That's why we made so much, so we can have leftovers!" 

It also doesn't help that I love to cook food just as much as we like to eat it.
