I feel like I might owe some people, maybe a lot of people, an apology.
I'm sorry.
I have this bad habit of ending phone calls prematurely. I don't know if it's cultural, personal or biological. But, sometimes, when I am hanging up the phone, I can still here the voice on the other line saying, "Okay then, talk to you later, bye now, okay..."
I did not hang up on you. I did not get fed up with talking to you. I do not mind using my daytime mobile minutes to share a conversation with you. I do like you. I just thought we were done talking.

Everyone knows traveling during the holidays can be horrendous. There are three basic rules to holiday travel:
1- Leave early
2- Pack light
3- Be nice to the airline employees (and TSA agents as well)
With all of our planning and packing and leaving early, we still managed to land ourselves in the worst case scenario of holiday travel.
Merry Christmas. We missed our flight.

I'm not really a football fan. I watch it, but only because the men in my life love it. I usually find a book and a blanket and go to my happy place while the neanderthals smash their heads together any given Sunday.
I know, so un-American.
When I heard the news that the Vikings would be playing their final home game at TCF Bank stadium I laughed...outdoor football game in December in Minnesota!? That sounds about like the worst thing ever. Those people will freeze their faces off.

I've never had a snowy Christmas.
I know for most Minnesotans that is not only shocking, but borders on horrifying. What can I say? I grew up in Northern California. My neighbors put Christmas lights in their palm trees.
I've lived in Minnesota for a grand total of 16 months and am heading into my second real winter. Ever.
Last winter I learned a few things about living in the snow, driving in the snow and walking in the snow. Some of my "lessons" were painful. Some were expensive. All remind me of my own smallness.

I just completed my fourth marathon. I was feeling pretty good about my accomplishment until I talked to my chiropractor. She must be doing her marathon research because she told me:
"The average person can run two marathons in their lifetime before they start to do permanent damage to their body."
Let's just hope I'm not average.
