We finally did it.  We bought a minivan.

After all these years of swearing I'd never get one, we did.  The timing is right, with two small children (and an every growing amount of their stuff), it was just too hard to try and fit it all into a Civic.

Don't get me wrong, I love(d) my Civic, great gas mileage, handled really well.... but you try and fit a four year old, a six month old, 200 lbs of kid stuff, along with you, your spouse and enough sanity to last a weekend... (Unfortunately the sanity always seems to be the first thing to get left behind...)

My Family has a problem.  We have no self control.

I didn't notice it at first, it all started out so innocently.... "There are plenty of cookies, I'll have another" I would think to myself.  Or, "That's why we made so much, so we can have leftovers!"

It also doesn't help that I love to cook food just as much as we like to eat it.

You know that expression, "Just like riding a bike?"  Well it's not always that easy.

I bleed a lot.  At least I try to.

There's always the urge, sometimes I can go months without, but I always come back to it.  As a matter of fact, at 5:15pm today, I'll be bleeding again.

Of course, I'm referring to giving blood.

I started giving blood in high school, the Red Cross used to hold a blood drive at our school, in the gym, and anyone who wanted to could stop by.

In my last post, I recalled my misfortune from Ice Fishing, for better or for worse, it helped me recall this other little gem....

Perhaps I'm just unlucky, or perhaps (much more likely) someone is sabotaging my efforts to enjoy the great outdoors!

It's another fishing story, fortuntately this episode didn't take place in the sub zero temperatures of a Minnesota winter, but on a beautiful summer's day... (in a fairly nostalgic tone) I recall,

As the "online guy" here, I am a huge supporter of keeping up with the new things that come up in the world of online and technology.

I'm used to scouring the internet and publications for information on the next best thing and how I can use it, both for work, or just pure amusement.  It really amazes me how quickly the new technology is developed, and I can't remember the last time I opened my facebook page and didn't see a change... it's all either new or improved, and sometimes it moves so fast if you blink... you just might miss the what had happened!

Whew, what a day.  I am writing this 75% done with baking about 20 dozen cookies.  That's right, 20 dozen.  I've got chocolate chip with peanut butter, english toffee, cranberry white chocolate and sugar (and I must say... they are all delicious!)  Of course, they aren't for me... the kids, mine included, will be decorating them this weekend for Sunday School.  Of course, when I say "decorate" I mean "eat."

It's that time of the year again.

By that I mean it's winter.  And of course, it really started about a month ago.  I like to avoid thinking it's winter until we get a really good snow, and this past week and a half we finally got it.

I don't like winter.

Don't get me wrong, I love playing in the snow with my almost 4 year old, I do enjoy all the Christmas season brings... but it seems that with the good, there's always some not-so-good... frustrating things...
