Join us in the small meeting room at the Brainerd Public Library Wednesday, May 11th at 2:00pm for a discussion of
Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier

It's hard to say whether the remarkable creatures are the women in this book, or the fossils of the first dinosaurs Mary Anning finds on the beach. This is a novelization of the life of Mary Anning, who really did find these fossils, and her lifelong friendship with Elizabeth Philpot. The book is a study in women's place in society at the time, and how the religious and scientific community reacts to her find.
