Americana/folk singer and songwriter Dennis Warner and his band the Ds blend humor, audience participation and serious music into a memorable and fun concert for adults and families.  His book and song "Beads on One String" is about our connectedness in the world, and how we are all much more alike than we are different.  Come and check it out at 6:30 pm.  This event is free and everyone is welcome.  This program is made possible with funding from the State of MN with Legacy Amendment funds to preserve arts and cultural heritage.

At Thursday, April 7th author and speech pathologist, Teri Peterson entertained the little ones at baby storytime.  Teri read from her adorable book,"The Big Book of Exclamations" which is a fun way to engage children and strengthen communication and speech.  Baby storytime is geared towards those from birth to 24 months but is open to everyone.  Come check it out on Thursdays at 11:15 am!

Poet Charmaine Pappas Donovan to speak at Brainerd Public Library

In celebration of April Poetry Month, Charmaine Pappas Donovan will read fromTumbled Dry, her newly published collection of poems at Brainerd Public Library on Tuesday, April 12th at 6:30 pm.  Tumbled Dry includes narrative poems about growing up in a small town, Crosby-Ironton, during the 1960s.

Look for the Brainerd Library's booth at the 2011 Day of the Young Child.  This years event will be at the Franklin Art Center Saturday, April 9th from 11 am to 3 pm.  The Free Family event has entertainment, games, prizes, crafts, food and much more.  Bring the whole family.  Look for Darcy and Robin from the library to spin our "Wheel around the World" and win prizes.  Be the first one to learn about our exciting plans for our summer reading program.  Please bring a non perishable food item for the local food shelf.
