September is Library Card Sign-Up Month
Throughout September when a child under 10 receives a new library card, a library football player will move one yard. Once the football player gets a touch down the library will have a football party! With thanks to a generous donation the children will also receive a free tote bag and book with their new card. Go Team!
Carrie Vecchione and Rolf Erdahl, a husband and wife instrumental duo, will visit the Brainerd Public Library on Thursday, September 20 at 11:30am. They will present a recital of music through the ages up to the engaging new repertoire composed for them, with classical crossovers infused with jazz, tango, and folksongs. Hear Carrie Vecchione, oboe/English horn, and Rolf Erdahl, double bass, perform music that "grabs your ear as the ink dries, and sends you out the door humming a new tune!”
The Kitchigami Regional Library System has launched the 3M Cloud Library eBooks service to all Kitchigami cardholders on September 20th. The new service can be found on the Kitchigami webpage at http://www.krls.org.
Bring your children to the Brainerd Public Library for an upcycling art project during their day off of school on Thursday, October 18. Happy Dancing Turtle will be at the Brainerd Public Library on Thursday, October 18th at 10am to work with children to use old fabric to create a new quilt. We will be reading "Joseph Had a Little Overcoat" by Simms Taback and then together we will create a design on a square of old fabric, which we will then make into a small quilt for display in the library. Registration is required by call the library at 829-5574.
