I don’t go out with the girls often, but when I do it is always guaranteed to be a good time.
On Friday night, I and five other girlfriends went to “Away in the Basement, A Church Basement Ladies Christmas,” at Tornstrom Auditorium in Brainerd. All of us girls know each other through our daughters’ Girl Scout Troop No. 852.
None of us had seen the play. It was hilarious. The play also had some serious parts too when the pastor sang, “I Think You’d Like her,” to his deceased wife telling her she’d like the new woman he was interested in. It actually brought a tear to my eye, thinking about all the people who have lost a spouse and how hard the holidays are without them.
After the play, us girls went out dancing and sang karaoke. One of the girls in the group is a very good singer and she put the rest of us to shame. But we all still had a good time.
We don’t have another girl scout mom outing planned yet, but we will.
For now we’ll be busy with our girls as they’ll be ringing the bell for the Brainerd Salvation Army Wednesday at Walgreens and going shopping for two girls the troop adopted.

Glad you enjoyed the show. Maybe you could develop a show about Girl Scout Moms and their singing karaoke?
