Celebrate the Young at Art!! and Flipside 2nd Saturdays!!

The annual Celebrate the Young at Art at the reception is Thurs, April 12, 3:30 at the Q Gallery at Franklin Arts Center. http://www.crossingarts.org/pages/CelebratetheYoungatArt2012/ The Crossing Arts Alliance planning and programming committee works with area schools to honor budding young artists and their creative endeavors. The exhibition runs Tues to Sat, 10 to 4 through April 20. A special thank you to Kate Carlson, who organizes this celebration.
Another great arts opportunity for encouraging creativity in children is the Flipside 2nd Saturday Art, from 10 to noon at the Franklin Arts Center cafeteria. April 14 Eric Omtvedt is teaching drawing and dinosaurs. May 12 Jess Cavazos will teach about hanging mobiles. This program is co-sponsored by ISD 181. There is a suggested material fee donation: $3/child or $5/family, but no child will be turned away because of financial need.
