September is Library Card Sign-Up Month
Throughout September when a child under 10 receives a new library card, a library football player will move one yard. Once the football player gets a touch down the library will have a football party! With thanks to a generous donation the children will also receive a free tote bag and book with their new card. Go Team!

Sept 11 at 6pm –Vikings and Voyageurs* Library - Jack Salmela, author of "Of Vikings and Voyageurs" will present a slide show on his book and you’ll be able to visit a French Voyageur with furs, authentic trade goods and a live musket firing.

Sept 12 at 2:00pm Brainerd Public Library Book Club -Library. Everyone is welcome to join in the discussion for this monthly event. The book club meets the second Wednesday of each month from 2:00 to 3:00pm.

Sept 15 at 1pm-4pm Northern Pacific Center* – Located at the Northern Pacific Industrial Center. Speakers John Luecke, Douglas Birk, & Jeremy Jackson will be discuss Brainerd’s rich railroad history. Pre-registration required by calling 829-5574.

Sept 20 at 11:30am – Vecchione/Erdahl Duo*- Library
A recital of music through the ages up to the engaging new repertoire composed for them, with classical crossovers infused with jazz, tango, and folksongs. Hear Carrie Vecchione, oboe/English horn, and Rolf Erdahl, double bass, perform music that "grabs your ear as the ink dries, and sends you out the door humming a new tune!”

Join us for our kickoff presentation of the Kitchigami Regional Library’s NEW eBooks through the 3M Cloud Library. We will be helping people discover our new eBook collection throughout the day with special times for training with specific devices.

Sept 26, Wednesday at 6:00pm—Author Mary Casanova—Library
Mary Casanova is the award winning author of thirty books. She will be discussing her new young adult book Frozen. Frozen is a suspenseful, moving testimonial to the haves and the have-nots, to the power of family and memory.

Sept 27, Thursday from 9:30am to 12:00pm – Beginning Watercolor Class with Verna Miller – Library
Join us for a free beginning watercolor class by professional artist Verna Miller. Verna will be demonstrating watercolor techniques with hands on practice. Pre-registration required by calling 829-5574.

Banned Book Week is Sept 30- Oct6- Starting September 10th we will have Banned Book Week Trivia that you will be able to play to win great prizes.

Oct 11, Thursday 6-8pm - Ancestor Detectives 101—Library*
A beginning workshop for library users interested in tracing their family genealogy. Using library resources, the Ancestry Detectives 101 workshop will be a two hour class., pre-registration required by calling 829-5574
