CLIMB Theatre, located in Inver Grove Heights (a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN), is a nationally recognized non-profit company that has provided programming to K-12 schools for 38 years. CLIMB’s theatre artists write, produce and present plays and drama classes on topics like bullying, self-control, respect, and the environment. CLIMB’s work is not only entertaining, it is educational. CLIMB’s mission is: to create and perform plays, classes, and other creative works that inspire and propel people - especially young people - toward actions that benefit themselves, each other, and the community.
CLIMB’s mini-play, The Tortoise and the Hare, takes a look at bullying and one way to deal with that with Slow Sal’s own determination and fulfilling a dream. It includes 20 minutes of performance and 20 minutes of related activities for 3-8 year olds and their families. CLIMB Theatre is the 2009 winner of the Sara Spencer Artistic Achievement Award presented by the American Alliance for Theatre and Education. AATE is a national organization that exists to promote standards of excellence in theatre and theatre education.
